GENERAL ADMISSION Slow Food Birmingham: Craft Cider Tasting 15 April 7-9pm 1000 Trades OTP (Copy)

Slow Food Birmingham is working with 1000 Trades on the Park to bring a series of producer talks and tastings, bringing our favourite food and drink to Birmingham.

Our first tasting is with two of the most important cider makers in recent years who are on the doorstep of Birmingham, in Herefordshire, which has been an important apple and cider apple growing region for hundreds of years.

Little Pomona and Oliver’s Cider are two cider producers who are keeping the cider heritage alive by bringing modern interpretations and styles to their drinks.

Cider is undergoing a renaissance as a superior drink and an alternative to wine. The days of Strongbow are over with producers bring a range of fine ciders, using 100% apple juice using heritage apples and blends. Using a locally grown fruit and ‘minimal intervention’ in the production methods, cider is a sustainable drink that we conscious consumers should be turning to!

We will taste six distinctly different dry and medium ciders showing the range for a tasting paired with Herefordshire cheese and English Charcuterie.

The evening will be hosted by Birmingham Cider Club who regularly bring cider tasting s to Birmingham. They will be bringing their knowledge of the craft cider industry and bringing insights into our two cider producer’s place in the cider world.
